Meet the Team Committed To Excellence in TMS Therapy

Your mental health deserves care from a team that listens, understands, and responds with experience. At Lado Healing Institute, our psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, and clinical staff work together to provide thoughtful, individualized care in a respectful and supportive setting. We take time to understand each patient’s concerns, medical history, and goals so treatment decisions are informed and practical, not rushed or generic.

Our team provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, therapy support, and access to advanced treatment options for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addiction-related concerns. We rely on evidence-based medicine while leading with compassion, because effective care depends on trust and communication. We also accept all major insurance plans to help reduce barriers to treatment and make care more accessible. Leonard A Lado, MD

With more than 40 years of experience in medicine, pharmacy, psychiatry, addiction treatment, and neuroscience, my career has evolved through multiple disciplines with a singular focus: understanding and treating disorders of the brain through a more comprehensive and biologically integrated approach.

Over the years, my practice has increasingly focused on the future of psychiatry and neuroscience, incorporating advanced neuromodulation and brain-stimulation technologies including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and emerging circuit-based approaches to psychiatric and neurological disorders. My work integrates psychopharmacology, pharmacogenetics, nutritional medicine, inflammation research, and neuroplasticity into a personalized treatment model designed to address both symptoms and underlying biological dysfunction.

My background in pharmacy and medicinal chemistry, combined with decades of clinical trial research experience, has allowed me to develop a strong foundation in selecting treatments that provide the best representation of modern evidence-based care while remaining individualized to each patient’s biology and clinical presentation. Through pharmacogenetic testing and biomarker-guided strategies, I aim to optimize medication selection and reduce the trial-and-error process often seen in psychiatry.

In addition to clinical practice, I have dedicated significant time to research and publication in the areas of oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, homeostasis, neurodegeneration, and psychiatric illness. My published work explores the relationship between inflammation, oxidative stress, lithium biology, neuroplasticity, and brain circuitry, proposing new frameworks for understanding conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, addiction, and other neurodegenerative disorders.

My research has been featured in peer-reviewed scientific publications, including work focused on the interplay between homeostasis, inflammation, oxidative stress, biological markers, antioxidants, lithium, and transcranial magnetic stimulation as part of a proposed multimodal framework for prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.

At the Lado Healing Institute, our philosophy is to combine advanced neuroscience with compassionate, individualized care. We believe psychiatric treatment should move beyond simply suppressing symptoms and instead focus on restoring balance, improving neuroplasticity, optimizing brain function, and enhancing overall quality of life.

Our practice integrates modern psychiatric treatment, addiction recovery services, clinical research, TMS therapy, nutritional and metabolic approaches, pharmacogenetics, and functional neuroscience into a comprehensive model of care designed for adults, professionals, geriatric patients, and individuals with treatment-resistant conditions.

I invite you to experience a more comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to mental health care — one that combines science, innovation, and personalized medicine to help patients achieve long-term healing and recovery.

Sonia Reido

Sonia Redio Rondon is an AGPCNP-C and PMHNP-BC, APRN. She was born in Cuba and graduated as a medical doctor in 1992. She also graduated as a neurophysiologist in Cuba before emigrating to Spain, where she worked in Alternative and Integrative Medicine. In 2000, she migrated to the USA with her husband, who wanted to pursue his dream of establishing a chandelier company in the USA.

In 2009, Sonia became an RN and worked in behavioral health as a staff and charge nurse until 2013 at Doctor Renascence in Texas. In 2015, Sonia graduated with her first master’s degree as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from South University in Savannah, Georgia.

Sonia worked in internal medicine and nursing homes with elderly populations with dementia and other psychiatric disorders until 2019, when she graduated with her second master’s degree in Psychiatry. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Texas. She completed her psychiatry master’s practicum and training in substance use and has mainly worked in dual-diagnosis psychiatry since 2019.

Her passion for integrating traditional and alternative medicine, along with the belief that the same treatment does not fit everyone in psychiatry, led her to pursue a career focused on personalized and alternative psychiatric treatments. Through this, she learned about Leonard A. Lado, MD, and the Lado Healing Institute, which is based on personalized treatment for mental illness and where every client is seen as unique in their circumstances. Sonia has also been a certified medical examiner since 2019.

Sonia firmly believes that being under the supervision and guidance of Leonard A. Lado, MD, at Lado Healing Institute positively impacts her performance and growth as a psychiatric healthcare provider dedicated to treating every patient as a unique individual.

Rachelle Sawyer

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, my primary focus is supporting children, adolescents, and adults of all ages with anxiety, depression, CPTSD, PTSD, ADHD, and other trauma-related disorders. I also have a unique approach to mood and personality disorders, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationship challenges. I work with individuals navigating the effects of trauma, developmental challenges stemming from trauma, and life transitions, as well as those seeking effective psychiatric treatment when symptoms feel overwhelming or persistent.

Using a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and thoughtful medication management, including ketamine-assisted treatment and integration therapy when clinically appropriate. I specialize in working with individuals whose symptoms have not responded adequately to traditional interventions.

My treatment style is collaborative, direct, and patient-centered. I develop individualized care plans that are practical, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with each client’s goals while collaborating closely with therapists, families, and caregivers when appropriate.

Together, we focus on restoring balance, improving functioning, and supporting long-term mental wellness.
